UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) -- A former High Point High School teacher was found guilty Friday of having sex with a 17-year-old student on school grounds in 2013, the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office announced.

Prosecutors said that during school hours on Homecoming Day in September 2013, Andre Brown, 33, took the victim to the boy's locker room at the school and had sex with her. Brown was also the head coach of the football team.

Following Friday's verdict, Brown's bond was revoked. He will be sentenced on October 16 and faces up to 25 years in prison.

“As an educator who had the responsibility to care for and protect the students of his school, there is absolutely no excuse for Mr. Brown to engage in sex with a 17-year-old student,” Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks said in a statement.

Brown's first trial was in March 2015 and ended in a mistrial due to a hung jury.
