15 Outstanding County Educators Named Semifinalists For 2012 Teacher Of The Year Honor

Fifteen educators from all levels of the public school system were 

named today as semifinalists for the 2012 Anne Arundel County Teacher of 

the Year award. Eight of the educators are elementary school teachers, three 

teach at middle schools, and four teach at the high school level. Ten of the 

county’s 12 high school clusters are represented by semifinalists.

in monologue competitions, workshops with professional artists, and the day will culminate

with performances by our very talented students. Please come and support our students.

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and the Prince George’s County-based Deamonte Driver Dental Project will be celebrating a special event Monday, February 6, at 10:15 a.m.

in recognition of this,  Fortis College, Landover will formally dedicate its dental clinic with a ribbon cutting ceremony and facility tour.The clinic, which offers dental services to the public at reduced cost, will announce a partnership with Operation Head Start’s Early Childhood Development Program to provide preventive care to Prince George’s County Public Schools students. The campus also will celebrate its participation in a dental health outreach program through the Prince George’s County Public Schools Head Start Early Childhood Development Program.

Dozens of events have been planned by schools throughout the Archdiocese of Washington to celebrate Catholic Schools Week, January 29 – February 6, 2012. This annual celebration highlights the contributions of Catholic schools through Masses, open houses and activities for students, families, parishioners and the community at large. The Archdiocese of Washington is home to 98 archdiocesan and independent Catholic schools, educating nearly 30,000 students in Washington, DC and Calvert, Charles, Montgomery, Prince George’s and St. Mary’s counties in Maryland.
